Gymnastics students (update)

Huge congratulations to 4 students: Ben Daintith Y10, Bethany Makin Y10, Libby Wall Y8 and Lauren Jolley Y7 who competed in an International acrobatic gymnastics competition in Devon 27-29 September.  A special congratulations to Ben Daintith who won Gold in the Grade 3 mixed pairs event and Bethany Makin who came 3rd in the Grade 4 Women’s Pairs Event.

Events & Activities this week

1st October – 8 week Mindcraft Course at Leigh Sports Village, covering self-esteem, confidence, raising aspirations and attendance.  

2nd October 38 Year 10 students visited Jaguar/Landrover Halewood Site. Students were shown around by long serving Jaguar employees who have now retired from working on the production line.  The tour incorporated the production line from the press room/Robotics creating the vehicles, the paint shop all the way through to completed vehicles being driven off the production line.  They later enjoyed a competitive afternoon assembling their own prototypes.

3rd & 4th October – GCSE Photography Club visit to Manchester City.  Quote from Mr Smedley on social media with photos “A fantastic day out for year 11 media photography students today. Taking photographs for their coursework of the architecture around Manchester city centre. Impeccable behaviour and superb photography from the group.”  Photos below.

4th-5th October – Expressive Arts Year 7 ‘Night at the Museum’ trip at Thinktank Birmingham Science museum – sleepover style.

10th October – World Mental Health Day. Students are requested to add a yellow item to their uniform in return for a £1 donation.
