We are enormously proud of our Senior Public speaking team, Iza, Hannah and Caitlin, who won the Rotary's Youth Speaks Grand Final in Frodsham this weekend. Winning the Grand Final is a remarkable accomplishment, 90 school teams competed for the prize this year which is testament to their talent and hard work. The girls had already won the District Final but have now gathered the Grand Final trophy. It might not stop there though as the girls will now compete in the National Final on 22nd March. ... To celebrate International Women’s Day, a group of students were invited to the library for a special writing session, where they created thoughtful stories and poems about inspirational female leaders. Students chose women from history, public life and their own personal lives, and produced some incredibly reflective, creative and heartfelt work. Thank you to all of the girls who took part and approached the session with such maturity, thought and enthusiasm. Girls rugby is back!! Our Y9 girls rugby team played in the North West Counties cup competition last week against 10 other school’s. The girls were fantastic and showed real team spirit throughout the day.

The team played the whole afternoon without losing a game earning themselves a spot in the semi-final against St John Fisher a team we have had many close runnings with. The game was very close, but the girls dug deep coming out eventual winners to progress to the final and the national competition which will be played later in the year.

Special mention to the Y8 girls which stepped up on the day to help bolster the team and give us good depth in the squad. There were lots of individual fantastic performances, too many to mention!

Last week our Y7/Y8 football team were in action against St Mary’s, Fred Longworth and Hindley in the group stage of the borough football competition. The played great only conceding 3 goals across all three games despite missing their goalkeeper. Shoutout to Violet and Ruby who played in goal!

There was also some brilliant individual performances with Rose L and Harley M dominating in midfield. Eliza and Maltida played excellently at the back controlling the ball well.
