SUPPORT YOUR CHILD

Reading – The Bedford High School English department is committed to providing all students with the opportunities to study a creative and innovative curriculum. We are dedicated to raising the profile of reading and fostering a passion for literature. English skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening – are crucial in enabling students to succeed across the curriculum and, indeed, in life. Please encourage your child to read for pleasure for at least 30 minutes each day.

Homework – please use ClassCharts to keep up to date with your child’s homework.

KO – Please encourage your child to practice their Knowledge Organiser work each week. This is a booklet which focuses on the essential knowledge within each curriculum that will help your child to keep up to date with topics discussed in each subject.

Clubs – check our timetable and discuss with your child what clubs would be of interest Each student is expected to attend at least one club every week. Our Clubs can be found on student and parent key messages, and they are advertised on the TV screens around school.
